Freedom's Ghost

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Jun 14, 2008

America is in our cereal bowls
and on our T.V.s.
When it comes to power, the U.S. controls.
Ignores people's pleas.

It got so high that it's lower than low
and ignores what matters the most.
It destroys more than we will ever know.
America: freedom's ghost.

Looking back in history books,
what I find displeases me.
Evidence of selfish land crooks.
They mean I; they just say we.

Life goes on as the flag flaps
in the breeze of filthy air.
Maybe one day we'll collapse
and reverse being unfair.

Last time I wrote an unpatriotic poem someone was so kind as to be so offended that they felt the need to report me, so MY poem, MY beliefs, MY freedom of speech, would be deleted. So I'd like to thank that girl for being so open and understanding of my rights instead of being an immature girl that can't accept other people's opinions (sarcasm to the max of course). If you don't like it, suck it up. I have rights.

I love this poem! You stated your opinion, your thoughts .. etc. which was by far, something i haven't seen from you in a while. or even ever since i started reading your poetry. it's glad to read something different and from your point of view (what you were thinking).. your thought process.
