The Weight Of Words

by Melissa   Feb 27, 2009

I've been drab
and wordy
since your willing hands.................................wandered
beyond the realm of my skin

too many poems
have sobbed themself
to slumber
in a barren attempt to pen a dream
no longer baring idyllic imagery

sorrow
is an eager seed
desperate to sprout
gray recognition
and it's malady
has spread throughout me,
but I can't pinpoint
whereabout
the ink oozes

only that it eventually forms itself
into crippled poetry
limping like a sprained soul
across the page

I love when poetry is personified!

"only that it eventually forms itself
    into crippled poetry
    limping like a sprained soul
    across the page "

    Keep it up, Holly

I'm such a fan of your work, Melissa. Your writing is always original - no cliches to be found, and the words really cut to the heart of the piece. There are no empty phrases or incongruous words. Well done, my dear!
