Amidst A Dark World (Collaboration with TJ BECKER Arizona)

A lonely world is obscured and
oppressed by darkened skies
Rain washes all thoughts
of life once bathed in sunlight

It's eclipsed by despair
challenged by the troubles
of human nature's dispassion
for each other and themselves

Black smoke engulfs the air
evil lurks and spreads around
the new world has been transformed
into a place filled with pain and hatred

A light warm and vibrant light
slowly glows in the distant sky
Could it be hope and faith
growing and over coming hate

The sun is finally rising
brightening the world's dark face
face morphing shadows into light
rising to a new beginning

A smile begins to reappear
as though nothing has been lost.

    Well, this certainly has an uplifting end:)

    You two indeed mesh well, I had trouble seeing TJ in here, ha ha and I know him realllllly well.

    I like this part best, it gave me an image of a sun rising in beautiful hues of tangerine:)

    What a great poem and seeing that it is a collaboration is even more unique. The transition from writer to write is very good and there were many emotions that one gets while reading this. The simple word choice and the over all simplicity made this poem very enjoyable. The imagery also in parts of this poem were nice as it painted a picture for the reader to see while reading. Great job and keep writing.

    Very nice work to the two of you. The first few verses are on the darker side but the last two are filled with hope of a better world. The flow is good and your styles on this meshed very well. Good job.
