Catch the Wind

by Daisy if you do   Feb 24, 2011

Catch the Wind

Lend me your
canyons and valleys
so shall I bestow
lindens and dunes

Oh artist I implore ye
to please share
the deft hand
of your craft

Brush rouge
upon thy cheek
stipple freckles
upon thy face

Paint euphoria
in my veins
with palette in
your own hand

Sojourn through
Garden of the Gods
bewilder at Camelot
wend to peak and plain

Barefoot, unshod
relics of agate and jasper
between our toes
frivolous laughter erupts

Ascend the summit
trying to grasp
bantam splinters
of ere yesterday

Mimicry of eagles
clinch echoes
in the bosom
of mother earth

Clasping hands
gay and naive
dancing to a mosaic waltz
of wonder

I really liked the short lines here because it set up a nice pace when reading. Your choice of vocabulary was exquisite and refreshing to read. It didn't overpower the poem at all and added a nice touch to the overall piece.
