Silenced Requests

by Meme   Jul 4, 2012

Don't ask me to paint
a rainbow in your night
sky, or even to pick the
stars tangled all around
your sun. I now lost all the
colors hidden in your
pictures, and even the
only ladder I had to climb
on to your heart is broken.

Don't ask me to call your
hands to perfectly fit mine,
or even to carve a sonnet
on your lonely pavements.
I no longer remember how
to dial my steps to you, and
those busy streets of yours
I have now abandoned.

Don't ask me to write
you an escape out of my
autumn tears, or even to
sing a warm lullaby for your
winter breaths. My calendar
pages can only replay our
September song, and all the
words I say are lost in a
rhymeless state.

--

Free me ..
from painting your tangled
sonnets in my heart, I can't
have my beats never escaping
the broken melodies of your
burning winter songs.

Wow.... I love this poem... I love the imagery you created and the whole meaning behind this poem.

I love this part I must say "or even to carve a sonnet on your lonely pavements." It's my favorite part of this poem!

    Amazing poem! Well done! :)

Great one, Meme. I like how you made use of the names of poetry forms. It was kind of romantic, yet with the melancholic atmosphere that your tone has induced, it was far more than plain romance.

    Awesome, my friend:)

    Oh MY!!!

What a poem! I mean the first two lines were so direct... don't ask me!

I love that because it shows that you are feeling differently about this relationship than the other person does. Maybe they haven't gotten over it and you have.

I love what you were trying to tell this person and how you were doing it. The images were great and the sadness in the words blew me away.

    LOVED IT
