Namesake

by joseph santacruz   Jul 6, 2012

Chilling in my cell, bored and yawning thinking somethings missing from my game
all of a sudden it dawned on me I was in need of a prison nickname.
I had plenty of time doing my time sitting on this prison shelf
so I took some time out of my time to find a nickname for myself.
Well theres smokey and blaze, torchy and flame
names "matches" something thats burned
choker and stomper, strangler and killer
I think those names have to be earned.
Dino and duke, tweaker and villian even some fool called himself fool
dopey and dreamer, goofy and creeper
but not chester cuz that name is not cool.
I've met snowman and butter, stinky and boxer and a hillbilly named country
I've met piston and motorhead and a few not so wise guys named brainiac and socrates.
I've met icepick and hammer while in the slammer
and a silver haired chap called himself chrome
A man called bent another named dent
cuz' he had a knick in his dome.
There was rocket and missle, heatseeking torpedo and somebody called hotrod
porky and sparky, sad boy and gumby
even an old fisherman called himself rockcod.
There was Jesus and perfecto and big bumblebee
and I cant deny it a man called giant
those names seem a bit grand for ol' humble me.
There was spoonman and spike, even dirt bike mike
and a youngster called peanut M&M
pumpkin and butterfly, gypsy and velvet
those names seem a touch feminine.
There was champ and spunky, demon and angel and some loser called himself ace
gilligan and wolfgang, sniper and chewy
and a brave indian brave called himself paleface.
I must admit I was unfamous with only my self to blame
for heavens sake I was so forsaken just for the sake of a name.
There was batman and robin, spider and superman and a dimwit called retard
I dont want to be named after a superhero cuz' they prance around in leotards.
So when it comes to name dropping
Im stopping name shopping
correct me if I am mistaken
there is one thing I know
its not that bad being joe
and the good names are already taken.
