Shattered

He had in his hands,
a heart with many a tear;
and she cried when he whispered,
"I'll always be there".

She cried and he couldn't understand,
the lies she knew just reached her ears;
not a forever and always,
but just their together years.

Her eyes held so much sadness,
of her lonley heart betrayed;
without a backward glance he left,
uncaring of the broken heart he made.
