Sit with Me when I cannot Breathe

by Someone Invisible   Apr 22, 2020

When my chest gets tight, and my heart constricts.
When I cant ignore the empty spaces behind and beside me.
I welcome the quiet depths of darkness.
I wrap myself in the shielding cloak of the night sky.
And I hide, because I cannot run.
I cannot run from the fist in my throat, or the burning of my eyes.
I cannot run from the chill on my skin, and the pain in my soul.
I cannot run from my mind and the sadness that lives within.
So I am hiding, and I am waiting.
For it to pass or for it to finally swallow me whole, I will not know until it happens.
Until then, sit with me, and the sky will share her darkness with us.
