Alcatraz

by Maple Tree   Jan 27, 2013

Wicked iris's lurking,
dungeons smolder in
death chained rattles,
forgotten ones haunt
in cracks of stone,
high upon the hillside.

Ooo0o0! This is sweeeettt! Seriously I love the story of Alcatraz and I like that you chose to randomly write about it poetically rather than the biography I normally have read on it!....seriously this is perfection you summed it up.

    Love it! Creative! :)

I love short pieces with deep meanings, this hold lots between those few lines. But I feel sadness, dark pieces reflect sadness in a different way, maybe a stronger sadness.

This is amazing, great job as always:)

You are correct Tara :-) Alcatraz is in California.. and I used the island/ Prison years ago, as a metaphor of hidden thoughts for me... it is a very personal piece.. and I chose to make it small but powerful... hugs

Now, Alcatraz Island is in California, right?
I know that much...but I don't get the ideas of this piece, and where it comes from.
Maybe this is history of this place,
or maybe it is personal to you, a place that holds memories that are difficult to remember.
    I'm not sure...

but I love the darkness in the few lines here, it stands out...and makes me feel a little creepy by the place...though I hear it is a beautiful island.
