Fireworkingme

Hey everyone Happy fourth of July
looking for a little bang for my bucks to the firework stand go I
sparklers and shimmering fountains its all so very nice
that quickly fizzled out and I became a dud when i realized the price
I could almost go to NASA and buy a real rocket
when i found out how much was coming out of my pocket.
I know its only once a year but what a costly disgrace
maybe this is where the expression came "throwing money in the fireplace.
Just adding up the total of my desire made me apprehensive
who knew being a pyromaniac could be so expensive.
my burning lust for sparks will quickly defuse
i wouldn't be able to indulge in every thing else I abuse
Its uncle Sam's birthday the salesman says,we extend credit
I tell him sorry but i have a monkey already on my back and today I havent fed it.
He mumbles something about me being unpatriotic
all these things are made in china i say you sound so idiotic
Im a real flag waving yankee doodle dandy but im afraid this time
when it comes to rockets red glare, bombs bursting in air it will be on someone else dime
when darkness brings firecrackers and cherry bombs
this all-American ordinary Joe will become a peeping tom
I will indulge my dependence on this day of independence at a few local dive bars
And if I'm lucky i can find someone who can make me see skyrockets and stars.
