Simply Me

by Maple Tree   Feb 29, 2016

To know me, is solitude within simplicity-

Captivated by a single star
breathes moments of pure,
magical design and in that
moment-

I come undone.

Naked in silence, stripped
of shields and masks.

I am not a warrior
but I have to be on guard
of daily attacks on my nature.

Even a spec of dirt
could make an onlooker
think differently of me.

Under the moon
while all is sleeping
that is when I spiritually
connect and unwind.

You see sparkles of irises
in the trees at night
and there you shall find
the true simplicity of me....

    "Under the moon

    These are my favorite lines.
I just can feel the peace. Even during the darkest night to remain true to yourself. Take care

A beautiful sadness covers this poem but as Brenda points out, it is nice to see that you do find peace sometimes - even in the dead of night. Mind you, it sounds lovely to me....

    Love to you, Andrea,

Beautiful! I totally get having to be on guard to protect yourself from one's that come to do you harm. I'm glad you allow yourself to stand down and to be yourself even if it's in the wee hours of the night, your words express that and I want to thank you for allowing me a glimpse of that.
