Look Inside

by DarkNDangerous   Mar 8, 2016

Look inside and see emptiness
No trace of perceived love
No hint of becoming whole
No suggestion of acknowledged humanity

Look inside and see indifference
To civilized connection
To belonging to a society
To religious testimonies

Look inside and see divergence
Mortality is to be experienced
Extinction is a puzzle
Emotions are impractical

Look inside and see an opinion
That falls on deaf ears
That mankind declared extinct
That is the Pandora's Box of declarations

Look inside and see a hunger
Gnawing away at the core
Submissions of abhorrent collisions
Repulsive to all of humanity

Look inside and see more than just a box
More than just the unsolicited brand on my forehead
More than just the unwavering smile on my mask
More than just the challenge of a reluctant statistic

I liked your poem and can see a lot of emotion pored into it. Opinions that fall on deaf ears, Pandora's box of declarations, look inside and see more than just a box feelings that I have too felt in the past.

It was less a sad poem and more of my feelings, who I am, and how I feel. Didn't really fit any other category on here but sadness though. Thank you So much for the comment!

I really like this a lot. You really dig deep into your feelings. It may not seem like it now but life doesn't always suck, I'm glad you see some glimmer to write another day.
