Class Of 1986:

by Scott Cole   Aug 22, 2016

It was the year of 1986
Reagan was President,
Bears won the Superbowl
Public smoking took a hit.

Top gun was the movie
While Cosby cracked us up,
And Rock Me Amadeus
Left the others in the dust.

Ferris Bueller took a day
Hall of Fame took a vote,
As Hands Across America
Gave us all some hope.

Young Tyson got the win
The first email was sent,
While the PC caught a virus
Halley's Comet came and went.

The first Final Countdown
And Oprah got their start,
The first triple transplant
Of a liver, lung and heart.

Martin Luther King Jr
He finally got his day,
And the Superbowl shuffle
It was here to stay.

Star Wars made a comeback
And Gorbachev had his talks,
The Mets survive in seven
As Baby Gaga learns to walk.

The first laptop was born
Green Day takes the stage,
And Walk like an Egyptian
Brought back the Bronze Age.

Magnum P.I. called the shots
Out of Africa took top spot,
The Duchess of Windsor dies
Heather and Tommy tied the knot.

Argentina claimed the World Cup
Christie Brinkley is flying high,
While Office Depot says hello
The Space Race says goodbye.

In a small school in Ridgeway
Nesteled back in my hometown,
Stood all those DMHS seniors
Dressed in their Cap and Gown.
