Observe 222

by Larry Chamberlin   Feb 7, 2017

He is the watcher of life
the cosmos rewards him
with experiences of love,
fear, joy, pain and boredom.

Nothing is lost or trivial
for each nuance transforms
this captive participant,
changes his perspective
writes his story anew.

In turn he relates it all
in troubadour fashion
with high morals, low humor,
heart piercing pathos.

He is the watcher of life
whose tongue goes silent
eyes fall to dimmed ebony
for today is the day he will die.
