Things that I Will Miss

by Scrittore   Mar 5, 2017

Things that I miss
Like smoke stained lips
Wet eyes from glad tears
Giving in knowing no fear
Comfort and happiness
Joy and subtle fulfillment
Taking unsure dangerous risks
A new found love a bit too brisk
Sitting still and going about the day
Wishing you could forever stay
Continued firsts long longed for
Experience never knew before
Naivete might be assumed
Trust that I'm not so easily consumed
And know what is and what is not
Every moment and every thought
All will be gone as quickly as it came
But I will still smile all the same
And I will still smile all the same
Even once you forget my name

I'm sorry that I can no longer nominate this - if only I'd read it a week ago or so!

I love this! Well written and rhymed and a beautiful depiction of new found love in all its thrilling, happy glory- and how we can feel and see and sense all of those memories made, even if it doesn't last.
    Fantastic job!
