The Storms Within

by Kasie   Sep 18, 2017

The lightening strikes, brightening the skies
As the rain pours heavily from my eyes.

The harsh wind snaps, swaying the trees aside.
Revealing emotions I try to hide.

Shivering from the storm, my jaw is clenched,
I cling to the warmth, but my body's drenched.

The sky grows dark, but I am not afraid,
Afraid of the storm or being outweighed.

This storm will calm, but it's kind of fickle,
The rain that pours, will turn to a trickle.

Lightening strikes, will start to fade away,
And the wind that snaps, will be calm today.

I will make it through, this dark rugged night,
I refuse to give up without a fight.

We all have to weather a storm at some point.

But eventually it blows over as you depicted.

    Never forget Rainbows.
