Better than I ever could

I will write you one last letter;
In hopes that you will finally
understand that I only ever tried to help you in spite of knowing
That I’d have to sacrifice help for myself.
I suppose a part of me hoped,
prayed- That we could somehow save
each other in the midst of our burning Love but at this point
I can’t Even figure out what was real for you;
No matter how real it was for me.
I knew that deep down somewhere
you had so much hurt-
Lost and confused,
Trying to find your own answers and
I’d thought I could help you find
Yours if you helped me find mine.
