Optimistic Nihilism

by Alice   Dec 1, 2017

Holy truth of humankind does not exist.
For I could tell a thousand wretched stories
of each gay and joyous breath I take.
I shall leap and spin in royal purple ecstasy,
for I know that if I make a tale merry
I will be merry also.
We are paper people,
story people,
lamenting and pitiful.
So why not make yourself God
play your performance bright and jovial,
roaring relentlessly against all the moments
that cloak themselves as being sorely bitter.
Good and Evil are trifling things
for if you ascend to stars you see
that our monkey-matters are small indeed.
