Cat & Mouse

by Taylor M   Jan 3, 2018

So what’s it gonna be today?
What game are we gonna play?
I’ll be the cat, you be the mouse
I’ll chase you all over the whole damn house
It’s always back and forth between you and I
It never ends and I’m constantly asking why
You love the game, you live for the thrill
But this time baby, I’m coming in for the kill
8 months now and we’re still playing these games
I used to love it but now it’s just not the same
One minute you’re here and the next you’re gone
It used to be fun but it’s been on for too long
When I point the finger you refuse to take the blame
Happens every time I see there’s another girl’s name
I was as strong as steel until I met you
You turned me upside down and I don’t know what to do
I don’t want to do this Tom & Jerry anymore
Sick of the way my body is always sore
I throw myself down a dangerous path to get to you
And you still escape, still don’t know how you manage to
But here we are again and I’m hunting you down
Your favorite little games are all about lost and found
You trick and you fool and now I’m growing tired
You keep running and laughing, you’re constantly wired
Now I’ve got you in my claws and I won’t let you go
Until the new day begins and we repeat the same game tomorrow

Taylor, well done on this. Nicely rhymed throughout and the story line, spot on. Those games get tiring after awhile, they either need to commit or move on.

A compelling piece that depicts the games that people play. An interesting read well rhymed. Best wishes Milly x
