What Is Friendship:

by Scott Cole   Jan 11, 2018

It's two individual words
That form a compound,
A mutual companionship
That's solid and sound.

The first word is friend
The second is ship,
And they're connected together
Joined at the hip.

For it takes a deuce
Two precious Souls,
To define their meaning
And make them whole.

Without either of them
A partnership wouldn't be,
Minus the other half
If one was set free.

It's two willing participates
A couple of independents,
That are comfortably united
A reunion of attendants.

That not only fit nicely
But have a good ring,
For when they're joined
They verbally do cling.

Friendship is established
With a compound word,
Or a pair of good friends
That nothing deters.

Thanks for the nomination my friend. My grandson is learning compound words in school and he went skating with his best friend. I wrote this poem at the skating ring while watching these two guys have the time of their life...
