life through a lens (acrostic)

by Mr. Darcy   May 22, 2018

.
Little did my poor heart know,
Indeed how could this be -
For everything I am, it seems,
Erodes eventually.

There was a time when it was clear,
Hunting specs was just a game.
Revealing there, unearthing here;
Only, it's not, and it is a shame.
Under the bed, I daily looked,
Gropping in ev'ry pocket -
Here I go again: eyes aching in their sockets.

A simple way was needed, to make the blurry clear. . .

Light reading now has something;
Eyes have a quirky, souvenir. . .
N'er was I more, the dandy fool -
Slipping on, my shiny, monocle.

    Mr D Mr D Mr D I absolutely loved this.. There's humour I think unless it's just me that laughed at someone slipping (oops my bad) and there's sadness within this piece in my opinion as you (well aren't we all) seem to or so I think realise that you're not getting any younger. What I liked most about this is because it is a well rhymed acrostic and acrostics are hard alone nevermind rhymed and you did both superbly... In all honesty I'd think you'd been taken over by aliens if you didn't lol
    Take care
    Em x
