I don't understand.

Why? WHY?
This isn't fair,
You feel nothing,
Yet I still care.

Please be safe, and don't be reckless,
Your brain cleansed completely of me,
I toss and turn, you'll make me restless,
This isn't fair, how could this be?

Pieces of heart, shattered at best,
And only you ever held the special glue,
I pick a few up, but what of the rest?
The fixing of me, is long overdue.

But alas, as I search, and look further into my mind,
You fade away, hitting me with full force,
I reach for you, and I'm only to find,
You turn your back with such little remorse.

I was broken m'dear, long before we met,
You were too, and I am sorry you were hurt,
You beat nme senseless..and yet..oh but yet,
I find in my heart, it's for your pain, tears drip to the dirt.

There is no eraser strong enough, no coat to hide your blemish,
And you smile without me, that's okay..no it's okay...truly,
I am sorry for our wrongs, happy for our memories, and boy do they nourish,
But I'll never understand.. why you had to, and continue ..to destroy me.
