A Mother's heart

by Dagmar Wilson   Jul 23, 2018

A Mother's heart
there is no other,
we die for our children.

There are not enough tears
to cover our sorrow
weeping blankets never expire,
we sleep with our hands praying.

There is no mountain too high
no river too deep,
to keep them safe is our goal.

A Mother's heart will carry heavy loads.

It is truly difficult to want these words to transpire with fond memories and good times of my biological mother, but reality sets in and the unsettling feeling of loneliness and hatred overcomes my whole being because I can't relate to this poem. All I can remember is her face looking down at me and how much hate can flourish like a cancer spreading throughout the years and years of abuse.

I envy you, and everyone else who can read this poem and smile with good memories.

For me my mother is everything. Hugs for writing this one and connecting all of us once again to our roots.

I'm sure if it were not for mothers, the world would cease to function.
