Those Tick Tocks Of Time:

by Scott Cole   Oct 19, 2018

We can't see it but still assume it's there
Yet we chase after it to get our fair share,
As our fading life unwinds it also does too
For us to wonder later where they both flew.

For just like our journey it slowly disappears
Dissipating eventually into the fresh thin air,
We're so obsessed with it we constantly glance
To see how much it's aged since our last stare.

For it's forward motion motivates our actions
And helps us move along in a punctual fashion,
By marking our ways with recorded memories
To remind us exactly when things did happen.

It's in sync with our hearts both ticking as one
For just like our life it mildy makes a decline.
But there's plenty of prosperity for us to behold
If you let the both of them smoothly interwine.

So long live the sun that's surfing the skies
And those numbered lines directing our days,
For both of their slight actions are significant
In the progression of our everchanging ways.

For time is but a borrowed breath of existence
Those calculated seconds that dully unwind,
Those invisible movements of our duration
That's etched on clocks so not to slip out minds.

Time is so precious it flies by so quickly but so many people let it slip through their fingers then wonder where it went. An enjoyable piece that reminds us of its importance. Milly x
