The Cyber Trap

My mom is happy as I talk to her everyday
I remind her to take medicines by SMS
She never feels lonely as daily, I chat with her

My sister sends me recipes as attachment
And I ‘IM’ her its taste and aroma

I make love with my boyfriend everyday
Except that some emotions are restricted
To the limited ‘Emoticons’ and ‘Audibles’
That my messenger provides and
At times, it’s hard to keep track of our cyber babies.

My best friend’s father passed away
I comforted her with numerous e-cards
I sent emails filled with hugs and kisses
And I know she is perfectly fine!

Successfully, I say hello to all old buddies
With lovely forwarded e-mails as attachment

I am so in touch with this world
I am so informative and caring.
I have such a fun filled life.
I do my studies, play games, and watch movies
All while sitting on this same chair
Thanks to my computer and the internet!
For it does most of the work for me.
We have become best partners.

    I loved this poem for I definatly agree with you, the internet has a way of making us reclusive and callus to what should be important things in our lives, it has a way of shutting us down and turning our lives upside down when used incorrectly. I liked how you chose to voice that side of things. nice work.

    hey trincy i do agree with u....the fun that actually meeting ur relatives, friends, etc personally; gives us cannot be matched with this so called cyber fun.... still loved the way u mentioned this fact thru this poem..keep writing!!!
