Your Silence Kills Me

Slouching in an armchair
she thinks about her past
denying all good feelings
cos she knows that they dont last

hands in fists she sits and worries
about all the tomorrows and todays
praying to some absent god
that it will all end up okay

glances at the sleek black phone
willing it to ring
knowing full well of all the pain
this one phone call might bring

nails dig into her palms
she squeezes shut blue eyes
her heart too weak to heal from this
her soul too strong to cry

strong hands lift the reciever
fingers dial the # she dreads
as soon as he finds out its her
Click! the line goes dead

lacking the courage to call him backk
she brings his pulse back down
blonde head held limply in her hands
it takes all shes got to not frown

soul no longer quite so strong
heart about to burst
of all the pain hes caused her
cold silence is the worst

    Hey that poem is like the best poem sum1 could ever write!it was so real and had so much feeling!im sure that if ur xbf loves u he will cum bak!and dont eva think 4 a second that breaking up wif him was a regret coz if it didnt happen u wouldnt relise how much u need n love him!i love ur poems always n cant wait 2 read more! keep strong and always shine in the specail way u do!luv ....josie.....

    Wow.The emotional impact of this is awesome and something I can definitely relate to.I let go someone special and once realized have suffered the constant haunting pain and sadness.I'm a sap for poems of love and loss.The rhyme scheme gives this a smooth flow, but it's the emotion that cries out and grabs one.I really like the last stanza, the final line is a killer.Great poem.
