The streets of a soldier

by Elynnka   Nov 17, 2005

When the street lamps are lit, but the lights are dim
You see the shadows of the demons lying within,
You run through the gateway between earth and hell
Trying to catch your soul from torture that words cannot tell.

A world of misfortune embraced by death's might
An outrageous scene trapped within moonlight;
Scarred in battle by an enemy unseen,
A soldier has come his life to redeem.

A struggle through pain... your demons recall
Times when you longed for death in the season of fall,
Those paths to bliss that seemed so hard to follow,
When you let yourself trapped within sordid sorrow.

When the streets are empty and the wind blows cold
This soldier still fights for his pain to fold
And now his faith shines bright in the dark
He can now feel the beating of his own forgotten heart.

A feeling of hope pushed back in his veins
He will stop fighting until nothing remains
Of this morbid world where demons lurk to see
How hard it is for him to set his soul free.

A moment of silence to reflect upon his future deed,
To see from where his insecurity and disbelief breed
And once his mind is cleared of them he will
Put an end to this world that fear seems to instill.

When the street lamps are not lit, but the lights are bright
You will then know that he has won this fight,
You will praise him and his powerful will for you know
That caress for others is something you "forgot" to show.
