Innocent no more

by Chelsey   Dec 11, 2005

If I unfold the fabric
Wraped around me
Maybe someone will realize
I'm not who they think I am
If I remove this mask of impeccant
People might see
Im a dishonest person
I am not an angel
Just a person...
Who tries to set an example
Yet gets nowhere with it
I try giving a helping hand
Get brought down from the results
I try giving off a smile
I get a grunt back
I try to get people to look at me
And see this perfect image
Image of perfection
Is what they say they see
But it's a farse
They are blind sided
This fake yet bright smile
Blinds their eyes
To see my real image
An image of a counterfiet
A disrespectful child
Who to some people
Is "unappriciative"
To some people is
"a rude person"
Oh how these words hurt
Are those people blinded too
For now I do not know
What type of person I really am
One group tells me I mean
A cruel minded person
The other says I'm an angel
A person to touch lives
Either way I realized
This innocent person
Lives no more.........

Deep..real deep and again something I could relate to in more ways than one. I really connected with this poem..I felt it...its actually similar to what I have been going thru of late and I know how hard it is Chels. Remember you always have your writing and me to vent to when times get tough...your never alone regardless

Chelsey Chelsey Chelsey, what am I to do with you? What can I say that hasn't already been said. No, you're not perfect, no one is, BUT you are a beautiful young lady with a big beautiful heart. People need to except you for who you are otherwise they are worthless of your friendship. Don't worry about what they think of you, just be you. I know that I love who you are and we've never met. This was a very emotional and heartfelt write and brought tears to my eyes. I hurt because you hurt, so put a smile on that precious face of yours missy and keep on being that beautiful young lady that I know you are. Don't let others bring you down. Big hugs and lots of love to you.....

Great poem - I sense some sadness too, I want you to know - we all love you, I don't know you but I know that you are loved and everyone thinks dearly of you. Great work :) Keep smiling, the world WILL smile with you.
