Eternal

The shimmering candle light paints playful shadows upon my walls
As I sit between these silky sheets holding my teddy bear tight,
A leaf is ripped away by the wind and I'm watching as it falls
Thinking this is how, lately, I've been spending each night.

When my feet touch the cold floor I feel a chill down my spine
And as I reach the window sill the moon reveals its face
Shining silvery upon my skin and with shades it paints a sign
That resembles a snow white swan's angelic grace.

Looking at the sparkling stars that are like diamonds on the sky
I cannot help but think of you my love - the keeper of my heart,
And I can almost feel your eyelashes that bat like wings of a butterfly
Gently touching my cheek as we sit alone, embraced in the peaceful dark.

I can hear the clock ticking and as I gaze upon it I can see it's late,
But I just can't manage to make myself go to bed right now
When all these memories are revived within dissolving every bit of hate
And everything surrounding me seems to be tied to you somehow...

As I sit alone looking outside... wishing that you could be here,
I cannot help but silently sigh and whisper "I miss you, my love..."
And before I slowly close my eyes to shed a sour tear
Your arms are wrapped around me and the sun shines above.
