I Need To Cry

by Natalie   Jul 29, 2006

Recurring intoxicated visions,
venomous poisoned thoughts.
Unhealed wounds enrich pain,
stomach tied in double knots.

Crystallized tears do not shine,
fallen underneath weak eyelids.
Ancient doorways are padlocked,
escaping; evil demons do forbid.

Engraved memories stay carved,
beholding those unspoken secrets.
Covering untruthful fake beauty,
lost within these designed portraits.

Shedding layers of bright colors,
leading towards few false hopes.
Traveling down unseen roads,
climbing up high mountain slopes.

Surroundings are disappearing,
only revealing bitter friendships.
Untold story books closed shut,
locked behind these sealed lips.

..................I just need to cry.

Wow this has a lot of emotion and great depth to it.. The ending would usually throw me off and I'd hate it, but it really brought the poem together. Great job.

I don't normally like when a peom is crammed full of sescription, to avoid just telling the story, and yet, here you have written the deepest of thoughts, the most powerful of lines, one after another, provoking the reader to think, and to feel your pain, and your hurt.. whether it be because of a split, a death, the heartache of a disease, or a trauma, or an illness, it relates, and can be related to.. Therefore, this poem is amazing, and has the ability to anyone who feels the tightness of pian, and the need to let it go.. Very well done. xx
