Fade Away

by Beautiful Tragedy   Jan 3, 2015

Laughter fills the air,
As I sit alone in the dreaded cold,
Fading into the background,
Watching everything around me unfold.
You smile but it doesn't match your eyes,
As they are filled with hurt and sadness,
We're both trying to get through the day,
Pushing through this madness.
But while your still here I'm fading away
Watching as you start to ignore me,
This isn't what I wanted either,
This isn't how we should be.
Don't worry about how I feel,
Don't worry about my tears,
We both knew this was coming,
It was one of our biggest fears.
You stand out and I fit in,
What a combination we both make,
While I know that your smile is real,
You also know that mine is fake.
Tears well up and you avoid my eyes,
Making me feel even worse,
Watching as I fade away,
As my emotions start to disperse.
I know it's not your fault,
Not even what happened that dreadful day,
But I can't help that it hurts,
As you just sit there and watch me fade away.

One of the painful writes ever written with the depth of your heartaches!
My fav. line: "But while your still here I'm fading away... "

Ah! So deep. Your open your heart to the page to make it written with an ink of your tears. Nice flow of ink!
