Through Her Eyes

by a broken smile with a broken heart is a poets life   Feb 13, 2008

A girl stands tall on top of a building,
She feels the wind kiss her skin gently.
The scent of the winds, as she inhales,
tingles her delicate nose.

Her thoughts are focused on the
world beneath her feet.
What have they become?
What has she become?
From the upper view they look like ants and act like them too.

Crashing with each other trying to work to build a stronger nation.
To please some one who controls them.
What the hell are they thinking?
What are they searching for?

Working for a better future while the leader sits on a pot of gold.
What are we doing?
We're slaves of our own doings.

She would give it all to see the world turn around and see reality.
A slap across the face will wake them up and see what's around them.
See how messed up humanity has become,
Deficit and Stupidity play a role on every one's life.

To give it all!
All what we have!
More than we can grasp.

"A happy world this is, come on and drown with me..."

And so the girl standing on top of the building lets her dreams fall, and with them she goes down.

I think this was a great topic to write about! I agree with everything you've said.

I think you could make the technical part of the poem better though. The format was really awkward and made me pause in places I don't think I should have.

    Keep writing!
