Slice Of A Knife

by AmberSherrellxxIve Been Sitting Here Trying To Find Myselfxx   Feb 16, 2008

Stuck in her own life, there's no way out
Hearing accusing words, filling her with doubt
This is the place she used to call home sweet home
But in this place of hatred, she's oh so alone

The rancid stench of alcohol hits as you walk through the door
There's yelling and screaming and she can't take anymore
She's failing to control herself, she's falling from grace
The razorblade summons and she falls straight on her face

The yells echo within her mind, driving her insane
She cuts away the memories, drowning out the pain
The blood seeps out of her skin and drips to the ground
Her heart is crying out in silent pain, but she makes no sound

To the tile floor, the razorblade falls with a chime
Her life is slowly fading, she's running out of time
Memories consume her and tears fall from her eyes
She knows she's leaving this world but she doesn't say goodbye...

They find her the next morning, a beautiful shame
Now the only way you can see her, is to read that name
It's carved on a granite stone under the shade of a tree
Take a look at the picture beside it, this girl is me

My daddy's an alcoholic but just won't admit it
I try to tell him to stop but he just won't quit it
My parents always fight and I'm playing referee
So sometimes I use razors and knives to set myself free

Will that be my future?
Will I take my own life?
Will my eternal freedom
Fall at the slice of a knife?
