A life less lived

by Rayne   Feb 18, 2008

They look for what
they cannot see
you hang your head
on bended knee
to pronounce your worth
to those who are blind
but they take their greed
while you're still kind
they tear inside
your fragile interior
to try and make
the world more inferior
to what they title love
but is truly Cole
of the blackened pieces
that once made them whole
you cannot deceive them
don't bother to try
for if you do
you shall surely die
the most disgraceful death
one may receive
a life less lived
on bended knees

  • Hi Rayne,

You wrote this poem? This is beautiful. I hear the truth in your words. Of late struggling to help a lady overcome a terrible addiction but she is cruel to push me far away so I don't see herself so living a desperate life.

I was looking for a quote by Anne Rynne - Raynde - Rande - I can't recall her name, can you help me please?

I have bookmarked your site for future poems and I know you deserve so many more comments than just my own.

Thank you and I really do hope you respond - some sites don't and that is a major bad error for too many sites.

    Thanks again.

    ~Philip.
