Fear The Night

by JEFF   Feb 22, 2008

Night of the dark horse,
Riding through the town.
Everyone runs for cover,
Doors close, shutters down.

Citizens say it needs to feed regularly,
So it arrives here once every few weeks.
Taking only one victim who falls prey,
Hunger is satisfied by consuming the weak.

Only a few have seen the dark rider,
Their eyes forced shut for eternity.
From what they say the rider is covered,
Cloaked like a dark shadow of energy.

It's eyes glow a real bright green,
So bright it's face you can not see.
No one knows where it comes from,
Everyone prays for soon it will leave.

    An amazingly written piece.
the beginning really drew me in.
and this is one of the best poems i've ever read! :]
the flow was flawless and the ending was perfect.
