Friends in a better light

I finally found
that I'm better off alone
not leaning on someone for balance.

I finally noticed
all the annoyed looks
and secrets passing unknown

I finally saw
that i never had true friends
and you guys definitely didn't care

I finally swore
i would never let myself
care for friends at all

I finally realized
that as much as we could pretend
things would never be the same again.

I finally wondered
why no one called me anymore
so i spent the weekends alone

I finally searched
for answers, for something,
for things i already knew.

I finally heard
of the parties, and "hang-outs"
i was never asked to go to.

I finally gave up
I'm done looking for love
among friends.

I'm finally done. I'm giving up,
on this non-existent group of friends.
