A prisoner's plea

by ShootingStar179   Mar 7, 2008

I have come back here,
To my fantasies and dreams,
They are filled with thoughts,
Leading me back to you it seems.

I desperately tried to escape these feelings,
Futile it turned out to be,
For when I see your face light up,
It simply sets my heart free

Free from shackles of fear,
Cast on by previous masters,
The prisoner screams for redemption,
Save me from loveless disasters.

You are the key to life,
Hear this inmate's plea,
Darling, grant this wish,
Just love and be loved by me.

    Courtney,

This is the first poem I have read by you and it's about my favorite subject, lol!
It's sweet and the very last sentence I love best because this is really what it all comes down too...

I really loved the ending of your poem. It is funny how some love can make you feel like a prisoner, and others make you soar :)
    Great job!
