Awareness

It would be wonderful if I could.
Even thought I can't.
It would solve all their problems.
And even heal my own.

If only I could get up and disappear.
If only I had that power.
The valor of unattachment
To watch what bleeds run out

To fade in sweet slumber
To sleep in eternal bliss.
No one will remember, nor should
Of a person that wasn't wanted, needed, or cared.

This grievance is my legacy
Their joy of my disdain
My pain, my sorrow, my anguish
For them was that I lived for

But to sleep, the dreams to shield the pain.
Forever wanted and loved by them.
By me, the only ones that would care.
Pathetic false comfort is what I would truly sustain.

To leave one world and enter the next
The only difference would be where I am at.
