Day I die

She found him through that ex-
boyfriend she still deeply treasured
he helped take away some of the
pain that was to much to be measured

he grew very fond of her very fast
she didn't find herself feeling the same
but he couldn't stop what his heart felt
to her, he was just another game

he could tell she didn't genuinely love him
but unconditionally he gave all his love to her
she didn't seem to care, it didn't matter how hard he tried,
she made it clear it was someone else she would prefer

he knew what was going on he wasn't blind
she thought she was keeping it from him when
she went to see her ex and give her love to him
each time she did his heart would brake again

when he made known to her that he knew
and wanted the truth on what was going on
he knew what he would get would, every bit,
be a lie and to her he was just another pawn

but despite all his head told him
he sat and listened to all her lies
he kept telling himself she was
telling the truth and not to cry

he tried to ignore the tormenting reality
he tried so hard to believe her when she would say
"baby you know that your the one i truly love
that you will be the one i love till my dieing day"

than he would go online and someone would tell him
that once again they had seen her with him at the mall
they had been holding hands wouldn't let go for a second
hugging and kissing were only a couple things he could recall

he finally couldn't take the heart braking pain anymore
and told her, between the two, she had to choose
he hoped she would give him a chance instead
of someone who should have already been excused

everyone thought they knew who she would chose
i mean wasn't it obvious? she still loved her x
she decided to brake up with her boyfriend and when
she did, she started to cry, and this made her perplexed

she thought she didn't love him
she thought she wasn't attached
she thought it would have been
easy to go back to her other match

he thought she had gone back to him
thought he wasn't someone she adored
so he decided to do something to make
her notice so he wouldn't be ignored

he went to her house and left a note when she
got home she saw it and this is how it read:
"i thought you said you loved me ? but
i guess my beliefs were mislead

all i asked for was for you to stop seeing him
all i wanted was for you to in my heart forever stay
i guess that was to much to ask for but know you will be
the one i love till my dieing breath, which will be today"

by the time she finished reading
it her face was overflowing with tears
if he had just waited a little longer
she would have taken away all his fears

you see, earlier that day she had broken it off with her x
she told him she was foolish to think he could be the one
she said the time apart with her boyfriend made her
realize that he was the one who, her heart, had won

so now she is standing at his grave
not able to control her crying
with him not by her side
she feels like she is dieing

her hand shaking she set a note down
she can't hold her self up anymore
her legs are shaking uncontrollably
they give out, and she's caught by the floor

her best friend runs to the grave
and helps to get her on her feet
she walks her to the car
and from there they both retreat

the note she left on the grave
said something like this:

"baby im sorry for how i treated you i didn't
realize that you where something timeless
by letting you go, i found out just how bad i
did care for you and now im just a mess

and now that i can't breathe
i know that our love was real
i can't believe i let you go without
you here these wounds wont heal

you treated me better than i could have wished for
i can't believe it took this for me to realize you where my guy
please believe me when i say you will be the only one i adore
that i will hold you in my heart and love you till the day i die"
