Dream or Reality?

by Andy   Mar 18, 2008

Underneath the deep, jet black sky filled with stars and the white, crusty moon

We lay upon the soft, delicate grass sharing a warming cover, slowly our eyelids begin to drop

Lost in time, arm in arm we drift asleep

As my mind takes over, I enter a dream world, a world with endless possibilities

Before my eyes, I see a figure of a girl distancing in the fog

Drawing closer to her, I reach my arm out to touch her, yet she fades away before my fingertips have the chance to touch her soft skin

Dazed and confused, I turn around but to only see the bright moon standing upon the hill top

Beside the moon stands another girl, the girl that I love

Staring upon her beauty, I walk closer yet before I get close enough, I see another figure walk to her side, this person was new to my eyes, he was a stranger

My heart pounds with pain as I see her look at him like she used to look at me

Drawing closer to kiss one another, I shut my eyes in silence and turn away in shame and pain

Awakening from my nightmare, I find myself laid upon the grass alone, sitting up and looking around I see my love stood upon the hilltop with the shining moon behind her

Crawling to my feet I stutter towards her, yet before I get close enough another figure walks to her side and kisses her upon her lips, he was the same stranger I saw in my dreams

Running towards them, with envy, pain and anger building within me, I dive towards the stranger, yet they vanish before my eyes and send me flying off the side of the cliff, leaving me to fall upon the giant, crashing waves and the rough, stubborn rocks

Awakening once more in a sweat, I crawl up from the floor, but to only see the stranger kissing my love underneath the cursid moon ...

    Andy,

    Another superb write from yourself.

You are truly a gifted individual. The way you structure and paint such vivid scenes within it is incredible.

This write takes the reader on your journey of lost love. It is rather like a rollercoaster ride with highs and lows, but this one send you crashing down into the sea below!!

Well done Andy. I was just wondering whether you have tried writing a novel? Or maybe, a short story?
