Listen for a second

by Tony Rifas   Mar 19, 2008

Hear me out, I don't wanna hear you shout
Or make you doubt these things I'm talking about
Don't let the gloom consume you, entomb you,
Resume to be true to yourself, not everybody around you
I'm trying to make your smile come, and after your tears run
The sun will rise, and dry those tears from your eyes
Don't cry, realize that there is something wise
In knowing that you're only going to fly
As high as the drive in your soul
And your whole body's got to feel it
Your soul be lit up, take out the pain and seal it up
I don't want to hear I can't, just I can and I will
So drop the pills and feel the thrills on these hills called life
Dark days and bright nights
The strife we fight lengthens our time
Strengthens our minds, our plight
To do whatever is right and bite down on your lip
It's not easy, it's tough kid
Or maybe it won't be so hard, but you gotta stick around to be dealt the cards
You're scarred, and marred, but don't let down your guard
Or you'll never live your life like a movie star
