Rusty Words Within Sacred Dreams

Rusty Words Within Sacred Dreams

The worth of your living, so hard to imagine,
Yet, minds of the deepest and darkest set out,
they set out to worship your every word.

Though the words are but letters jumbled together,
and thoughts but images too clearly pictured -
you still have the worst way of taking them in;

Swallow yourself, and leave all them be,
they're but people needing to be able to breathe,
and you're taking their life, taking their soul. . .

The choices are slim, when you yearn for religion,
life for so many, but a way out for some - just to believe
your rusty words within sacred dreams.

    I love what you did with this title and I am really glad that it inspired you to write this amazing piece.

    Very deep poem, excellently written from the first to the last line. It can be interpreted on many different ways which is its true power.
    I like the imagery that you portrayed in each stanza, it is vivid and effective.

    I can relate to this poem in a way which made it more heartfelt for me.

    Greatly done.
