Lie, Lie, and Lie [Sympathy]

by Stephanie   Mar 28, 2008

I hear your hollow words of sympathy,
did you think that I'd gone deaf?
I hear all your pleas of forgiveness,
but I don't care; there's nothing left.

My knees are scratched and bruised,
my feet keep stumbling on solid ground,
and my tongue is crisscrossed with lies;
i'll continue to act like the world's round.

Your words have no rhyme or reason,
they're lacing together inside my head.
Your pathetic, little apologies are worthless,
apparently like me and this life i've led.

This future is a hazy misconception,
because my world revolves around you,
and the choices in my life have limits -
i can't breathe happiness in all that I do.

And i'm clawing my way through barriers,
only to find another catastrophic dead end,
and these scars are shining brighter to me,
oh there's so many scars that scream to mend.

Two wrongs don't make a right [Lie];
You have to fight for your own destiny. [Lie x2]
And right now my heart just doesn't seem to care,
So speak the sympathies to someone other than me.

- It's not the best poem I've ever written, not even close in fact - but it's honest and real. I based the emotions in this poem off of my own, and I don't happen to write like this often. So take advantage of it. :P

    That is such a beautiful stanza.
    Very good, the words made up the subject easily, it just flowed.
