Soldier's Creed
By Mark Spencer

I was not born a soldier Lord,
Though that is what I do.
I risk the life you've given me
To see the battle through.

But it is peace for which I fight,
For liberty I stand.
I pray that when the battle ends,
The world will understand.

And if we put an end to war,
My duty will be done.
Then I shall shed this uniform,
And put away my gun.

For on the day my journey ends,
A new one will begin.
And Lord, I hope I've earned the chance
To serve my Savior then.

Amen.

There's always something about your pieces, they always flow, better than any other poem I've ever read, and I don't know why. Well written, as usual.
