Forsaken & The Pink Silhouette

by Ixora   Mar 30, 2008

Opening these eyes i saw a single light shine bright
in front of me a screen was placed, innocent and white

i shook my head, blinked my eyes refusing just to see
the handful of lost complaints, hypocrites, and me

trying just to get up, trying to run away
immovable was i, as the chains forced me to stay

something fell, and others followed,i couldn't make them stop
in front of me the wires twined, as my tears continued to drop

years would pass but fear kept me weeping here alone
just couldn't find the strength to stand, and leave this barren home

when the wheezing subsided and broken tears turned these dull eyes gray
i continued to mechanically contribute though i did not want to play

in front of me the screen turned pink, a subtle eerie glow
a silhouette appeared so kind and loving, how was i to know

behind the chains she shed her color and whispered softly in my ear
her finger outstretched she walked away and whispered for me near

with all the might from years of these things so long suppressed
i broke the chains to run to her, no longer to be depressed

amazed i felt the wind against me and saw the ground rise closer
as the broken pieces of the window fell before me, i feared her just a poser

in the nick of time, it seemed, her light safely placed me on the ground
walking to me, an angels smile, without making any sound

She kissed my hand, my arm, my neck--never was she shy
and as her fangs brought life to me, we flew into the sky

I felt a power never known it was driving me above
As features came to the silhouette, i was sure of lasting love

Exploring the horizons beyond we rested on the glacier
In her arms i lived the part of a lovers life secure

But suddenly, as life must bring, a threat had unwittingly arrived
grabbing my hand a whisper came, "this is not why he survived"

I offered her my blood for strength and just before the bite
those eyes glanced over apologetically and she pushed me with her might

into the horrid place they stole her as i fell farther down
the only thing before me was the pink in which she drowned

-The beginning inspiried by a little anger && the rest by the video for "Forsaken" by Dream Theater...obviously with my own little ideas : )
