Little moments

by Cotton Candy Clouds   Mar 31, 2008

After something passes you so
quickly you do not have a moment to
enjoy it, there is a beautiful, foggy after-
image left that one can almost see through.

Maybe it's just for that mere "insignificant"
second but that can not take away what it had left.
It is still a fact that it was there.
When it fades, time is blamed as the theft.

This feeling of pure amazement and devastating
disappointment overcomes you at the same time.
You feel so grateful for being able to witness
something so rare and impressively fine.

And then the feeling of loss overtakes you,
when the thought that its beauty is forever lost hits you.
Time: the murderer. You: the victim. You think, 'How could time
steal a beauty in a way so aggressive when you weren't through?'

Angry and furious at time for its crime you sit there
anxiously waiting for the moment to enjoy this luxury once more.
You wait. Hoping and praying for a chance that is told to
be so small in theory but you can't help it, this is what you adore.

You feel you are waiting for something that
will probably never show, but do so anyway.
In some weird, stomach twisting way, you fear that
without seeing this again, life will become a hazy gray.

Then you stop and think. Why did it take
this offense to make you realize something?
Why did it take this small, minute event for
you to notice the small gifts earth can bring?

God placed them around you each and every day,
but now you chose to look instead of starting at birth?
Why is it that you only notice now that
everything God placed here has a worth?

The exquisite moment you waited so desperately
for was never able to find its way back to you.
Never again will you be able to experience its stunning and
unique features, when you had only a chance to see a few.

God has forced you to admire the countless
other exquisite things he had purposely placed here.
You find yourself admiring all different types of things
from snowflakes to creatures that now you hold dear.

Look back at what has just happened.
You found a moment you treasured beyond belief.
Time robbed you of its presence
so you naturally blamed time as the thief.

But I want you to think and think very hard
about my next question and answer true.
Was time the thing to label honestly the thief?
Or was it ironically and oddly you?

You allowed yourself to ignore the "insignificant"
things in life that there was "just no time" to view.
God reveled and let you discover that in this
limited life, its the small, beautiful things to pursue.
