The greatest memory of all

by Teria   Apr 2, 2008

I can't recall the peace,
nor sweetened joy I felt.
The pain delivered that day,
was such an overwhelm.
But, I knew the time had come -
for a new life to begin.
The greatest memory of all,
the day I lost my friend.

The tears of sorrow fell,
and I can't remember breathing.
But, a smile lurked within,
as I lost my best friend.

Lies were falling down,
the truth once hidden -
now roaming the streets,
and love filled the air.
It was more than I was use to,
the happiness I felt,
since I knew the time had come -
for a new life to begin.
