Slipping under

by Beauty In The Breaking   Apr 3, 2008

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just something that I had to get out, nothing based on my life right now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Blood dripping down,
anguish pouring out
and finally finding relief,
copper pools of memories
and shattered long lost dreams.

Shimmering silver tears
splash into the red river
and I stare in content fascination
as the essence of my life slips away
and I feel no regret.

Numb to the pain at last
my vision starts to fade
and my fingers losing feeling,
slipping under the velvet comfort
of being embraced by death.

Finally free of memories,
emotions, no longer intense,
smile genuinely, first time in months
and let go of it all,
I slip into the dark.
