Dust

by sweet escape   Apr 5, 2008

War and death
drugs and meth

Is that what the world is made of?
Why cant there be peace and love.

How many men will have to die,
so we can see the world through our eye?

Still, we can't see even as they fight for us.
So many dead bodies turning to dust.

Although this poem is very original the third couplet reminds me of a Bob Dylan couplet

"All he believes is his eyes
And his eyes just tell him lies"

But you have to be a song writer to get by with starting the second half of a couplet
    Just kidding

Perhaps a poet can see with a proverbial third eye and I found your poem enlightening

"Why cant there be peace and love."
    this line should be:
"Why can't there be peace and love?"

I really like this poem. You picked great topic to write about and I completely agree with the message that you portrayed. I think that you did a great job with this poem- it flows naturally and you managed to say so much within a few short stanzas which is excellent.

    Keep up!

I know this poem means a lot
and because this is such a broad and emotional topic
I thought you could have went a little further
    as far as emotion went
    this poem though wasn't bad
    but it wasn't your best
    4/5
