The Game of Life

by Katelyn   Apr 7, 2008

We have choices to make
and so many chances to take
and sometimes we make a mistake
but after a while you take responsibility
and you learn how to clean up a mess you made
you face the consequences and deal
life's written in stone
it's your own fault if you're alone
there's no such thing as an eraser
and no rewinding what you wish you never said
oh, and that hour glass of yours
you can't flip it over after you're dead
when the sand runs out
it's time to go
you'll run out of precious time
if you move too slow
saying sorry never really fixes things
when you knew they were wrong in the first place
be a good person and do the right thing
don't lie and be a disgrace.
You don't like where you are now
but don't wish it all away
let time pass slowly
tomorrow you can't get back today.
be careful what you wish for
because it just might come true
and in the end might come back to haunt you.
be happy with what you have
and live life with no regrets
play every game to the end
and always have fun even when you don't win
